Tennis, Tennis and More Tennis!

Over Martin Luther King weekend I had my first tennis tournament of 2013.  The ITA Snowball Championships hosted players from all over the Intermountain States.  This tournament was a very competitive tournament and the players had to qualify off of their 2012 rankings.  Going into this tournament I was a little apprehensive since I had not played a tennis match since October.  In a tournament of this caliper, I was not anticipating any wins, but I usually go into with the goal of getting as many games out of a match as I can.
I was pleasantly surprised by my results.  I won my first round in 3 sets.  This match was really tough and long.  I really played smart and consistent.  I came out of this match feeling really good but wondering if it was just a "fluke".  My next match I was seeded against the number 2 ranked player.  I was expecting to get my "clock cleaned".  Again, I was pleasantly surprised.  I lost but the score was    6-3, 6-4.
Coming off this tournament I was really pumped up.  I realized that I am really close to breaking into the top ranks in the intermountain.  I will continue to work hard and play tennis everyday.
